Course for the Removal of Resilient Floor Covering Material Which
May Contain Asbestos
(This
course meets the requirements of the OSHA Asbestos Standard,29
CFR part 1926.1101 (K)(9)(iv) and (O)(4)(i))
TRAINING COMPLIES
WITH OSHA STANDARD
The revised OSHA asbestos Standard,
enacted in August 1994, requires an 8-hour worker and a 12-hour
supervisor training program be provided by employers at no cost
to employees who remove intact asbestos-containing resilient
flooring materials. This training course, developed by the Resilient
Floor Covering Institute and Armstrong World Industries, requires
instruction including:
- Background Information on Asbestos
- Asbestos Containing Flooring Materials

- Laws and Regulations on Asbestos
- Removal of Resilient Floor Coverings
|
In addition, the supervisor/competent
person course concentrates on the requirements of:
- Removing non-friable Resilient Flooring
Materials
- Establishing a Negative Exposure Assessment
|
- Using the Recommended Work Practices
- Material from the OSHA agreement (6/15/95)
|
This training is required
whether removing one (1) square foot in a residence or 10,000
sf in a commercial and public building or a school.
